Legal Fellow - Postdoc Research Associate

The University of Illinois, University Legal Counsel seeks two Legal Fellows to perform legal duties for one year from August 16, 2022 through August 15, 2023 (approximate). The position is a full time 12 month position, plus eligibility for University benefits. The position requires 40 hours a week with compensation at $46,200 annually. One position is located on the Urbana-Champaign campus and one  position is located on the Chicago campus.

 

 

The Legal Fellow will perform legal research and prepare memoranda; assist attorneys and other University personnel with various transactional matters, including contract review and approval processes; support litigation and other dispute resolution efforts; provide assistance with regard to labor and employment matters; assist with information requests, including subpoenas and FOIA responses; provide informed and expedient advice and counsel related to various compliance and regulatory matters; other duties involving the full scope of work of the Office of University Counsel as assigned.

Candidate must possess a J.D. and admission (or pending application) to Illinois bar. Applicants must have graduated or be expected to graduate from an ABA- accredited law school between September 1, 2021 and August 15, 2022.
