SHIELD Illinois is the screening testing program and infrastructure responsible for deploying the University of Illinois’ innovative, non-invasive, saliva test for COVID-19 across the State of Illinois. 

  • Acts as on-site support for the operations team (at UIUC or other “sites”) to find, tag, and/or move equipment as needed.
  • Determines needed equipment (IT, PPE, or otherwise) for all collection sites.
  • Places, tracks, reconciles, and returns all collection site orders as needed and coordinates movement of those orders. 
  • Assists with creation of collection site kits and monitoring depletion of collection site resources. 
  • Updates known demand from collection sites and tracks completed test data by site. 
  • Provides demand data needed to assist in building routes for mobile collection teams. 
  • Develops models to identify appropriate re-order points for consumables at collection sites (vials, labels) and labs (tips, other equipment). 
  • Maintains overall understanding and awareness of enterprise resources.

Preferred special experience:

Experience working in logistics, research labs, or other experience related to lab supplies

 

Preferred background:

Bachelor's in relevant area (business, computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, etc.)

Knowledge of supply chain management

Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and BI reporting

 

Pay rate: $30/hr. 

Schedule: 30hr up to 40hr

Locations: Chicago, IL; Urbana/Champaign, IL
