Assistant Director, Change Management

The University System Office seeks an Assistant Director, Change Management to be responsible for change management operations for the Business and Financial Services, including change management systems, processes, resources and tools. Also for the application of these areas above on a grand scale for system-wide changes that impact the business offices at the system and University levels. Additional responsibilities include:

1. Develop change management rollout plans and estimates to lead large teams of individuals through changes that benefit the effectiveness and efficiency of the University system as a whole. 

 

2. Deliver informational opportunities to University system leadership on change management methodologies and best practices to provide guidance through significant times of change. 

 

3. Present strategic and tactical activities that provide a clear path to the desired state of operations, all the while bringing the resources of the University system along with the needed support and methods that ensure best outcomes. 

 

4. Oversee and coach staff to develop change management plans that can be used for guiding change activities. Ability to provide leadership and guidance to direct reports.

 

5. Determine staffing levels and capacity needs relative to large scale change initiatives by collecting requirements from the individual Universities and synthesizing for tactical purposes.

 

6. Facilitate discussions and planning among all stakeholders to develop consensus that can guide change management approaches.

 

7. Provide leadership, support and vision for training initiatives to support change management operations.

 

8. Determine training objectives and implement continuous improvement of change management programs to ensure quality, effectiveness, and alignment with OBFS strategic direction and customer needs.

 

9. Provide expertise in instructional design, needs assessments, evaluation methodologies, and initiative delivery methods.

 

10. Provides consulting services, training, and organizational development interventions to administrators and supervisors on appropriate actions to resolve or improve change management issues.

 

11. Coordinate creation and maintenance of change management methodology and templates.

 

12. Manage the creation of change management schedules and ensure logistics to support initiatives.

 

13. Build partnerships with subject matter experts, their stakeholders and customers at all campuses by providing opportunities to comment and participate in the design and development of change management solutions.

Experience Required:

 

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in education, training or other fields closely related to Change Management, a minimum of seven years’ experience as a change manager and manager of training of initiatives and a minimum of five years’ experience leading the design and development of training programs and initiatives in a higher education business environment. Other requirements include: experience that proves the ability to design and conduct change management assessments, analyze results, and implement continuous improvement of programs to ensure quality, effectiveness and alignment with strategic direction and customer needs; experience that proves the ability to work in partnership with subject matter experts from business offices in the System Office to develop and deliver business systems change management programs; experience and excellent skills in researching technical change management trends, theories and methodologies; building partnerships with University business and academic units, and creating opportunities for collaboration and innovation; excellent customer service skills.  Preferred qualifications include: PROSCI Certified- Change Practitioner and Trainer; experience in designing and facilitating change management programs.
